Former national team youth standout Renzo Competente has officially finalized his move to Adamson University, he confirmed to ALL-STAR Magazine.

The 19-year-old combo guard came out of FEU’s impressive high school program and spent one UAAP season with the collegiate team before initially moving to UST. Competente has transferred again and this time he feels he’s found his final stop in San Marcelino.

“Naging comfortable ako agad lalo na sa teammates nung una kong practice sakanila,” he shared in an interview.

He admitted that FEU and UST’s deep pool of recruits wasn’t as ideal as Adamson. The Soaring Falcons could use more talent even after the recent transfer of Kobe Demisana.

Competente suited up for the Falcons in their recent Asiabasket stint, norming 6.6 points a contest. He also tried out at UE but their guard rotation is also deep.

He will have to do one year of residency as a transfer before playing his three remaining years of eligibility starting in 2025 (UAAP Season 88).

Competente averaged 11.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 44.4% FG, and 39.3% 3-point shooting in 20.2 minutes a game during the 2022 FIBA U16 Asian Championship.
