Phenom Sports Management believes they proudly stand out as an agency that treats its athletes like family.
Anthony “Brody” Brodett and Nadine Jamal are working together to manage young basketball athletes in the Philippines desire to spark their careers through their diverse sports agency.
In an exclusive with ALL-STAR, Nadine fondly recalled meeting Brody four years ago and instantly forming a working relationship.
“I met Brody four years ago. We met through Jeremiah Gray (Brody’s nephew) Since day one, we just clicked and helped each other throughout basketball,” she shared.
“He helped me with my Fil-Ams in the PBA. He was handling a lot of the college players alone, so I pitched in to help. From there, we slowly developed and became one.”
Brody explained that the agency’s core goal is to identify, develop, and manage talent while fostering a sense of family. “We guide them from the start of their career, through the struggles,” he said.
Brody told ALL-STAR. “We’ve been with them from day one. It’s not about compensation or anything like that—it’s about family.”
Brody and Nadine believe that Phenom Sports Management is distinct from other agencies due to their hands-on approach and active involvement in their athletes’ lives.
“Technically, we’re really hands-on,” Brody emphasized. “When you’re hands-on, the stress comes with it. A lot of challenges come with it.”
Aside from Phenom Sports Management, Brodett & Nadine also have overseas Phenom Championship Clinic, a developmental program to prepare their players for the collegiate and pro game through skills development and playing experience.
He added, “It’s not just shaking hands and calling it a done deal. If you truly care about someone, you’re going to tell them what they need to hear, not just what they want to hear.”
This close-knit involvement has fostered strong relationships between the athletes and the agency. “We’re all really close. It’s a family relationship,” Nadine shared. “The boys have developed a bond with each other because, for most of them, they don’t have family or friends here. So, we become their family.”
Brody highlighted how the atmosphere at Phenom empowers their athletes. “The environment we’ve created is one of backing them up and empowering them to have a voice,” he said.
“It’s a different time now. Five years ago, it wasn’t like this. Today, players have the final say on where they want to go. We’re just here to empower them, and that’s the difference.”
