Gilas Bids Goodbye to Olympics Dream as Brazil Edges PH 71-60

In a thrilling showdown, Brazil edged Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA Olympic Qualifier Tournament, securing their spot in the upcoming Olympic Games. 

Gilas Pilipinas came out strong in the first quarter of the match, with a 22-12 lead. But Brazil was able to trim down the deficit by the end of the second quarter 27-33. Brazil only had two field goals in the second quarter but maintained a solid defense to keep the Philippine offense in check. 

During the halftime break, Brazil was able to tune up its strategies, scoring 24 points to the Philippines’ 6. The Philippines found it difficult to get anything going in the third quarter, as Brazil stalled their offenses while doubling down on their own attacks. Brazil was leading by 41-33 with four minutes on the clock. 

In the fourth quarter, Brazil maintained an 11-point lead over Gilas, and closed out the game 71-60 sending the Filipinos home.
