Derek Domangcas Commits to FEU Tamaraws
Promising young basketball prospect Derek Domangcas has officially committed to the FEU Tamaraws for the upcoming UAAP seasons. After graduating high school in 2024 and taking a gap year, Domangcas will begin his collegiate basketball career with five years of eligibility starting 2026.
Standing 6’3″ barefoot and 6’4″ with shoes, Domangcas is a versatile wing player who made a name for himself as a key contributor to the Ateneo de Manila High School Blue Eagles. Aided by his international exposure, including representing the Philippines in the 10th Ever Glory Basketball Cup in Taiwan, he has earned the status as a young talent to watch out for in Philippine basketball.
In choosing FEU, Domangcas emphasized the welcoming and vibrant atmosphere he experienced during training sessions. “The atmosphere is way different from other schools I’ve trained with, the trainings are so fun to be a part of, and the team makes me feel like I belong,” he said.

Despite receiving invitations from multiple schools, Domangcas revealed that he prioritized FEU above all. “I was invited to other schools but I really just prioritized FEU and didn’t go to the other invites I got,” he explained.
As he gears up for a residency year, Domangcas is focused on learning and growing. “Since I’ll serve a year for residency, I just wanna be like a sponge and learn everything that I can from the vets and Coach Sean Chambers. I aim to just embrace the role that’ll be given to me really,” he shared.
FEU Tamaraws fans will be watching closely as Domangcas prepares to make his mark in UAAP collegiate basketball, bringing his size, skill, and experience to the team’s roster.
