Rising Talent: Five Intriguing Prospects Enter 2025 PBA Draft
Five rising basketball prospects have officially declared for the 2025 PBA Draft, each bringing distinct experience, skill sets, and potential to the professional ranks.
Represented by agent Edgar Mangahas, the group includes Andrew Milot, Ashon Andrews, Dave Ando, John Barba, and John Galinato — each with a unique path through college and semi-pro circuits that now converge on the PBA’s biggest stage.
Andrew Milot, a dual-national point guard from California, enters the draft following a multi-year collegiate journey across Palomar College, Knox College, and most recently, Whittier College. Standing at 5-foot-10, Milot boasts career totals of 1,180 points, 338 assists, and 129 steals. Known for his quickness, two-way presence, and ability to run offenses at pace, he earned two PCAC First Team All-Conference selections and compiled a 67-42 win-loss record across three programs. His American and Filipino passports make him a versatile prospect for teams seeking backcourt depth and maturity.
Ashon Andrews brings a blend of athleticism and scoring from both the MPBL and collegiate ranks. Formerly with the UP Fighting Maroons and UST Growling Tigers, the rising talent most recently transferred to San Sebastian then suited up for the Mindoro Tamaraws in the MPBL, where he continued to develop his pro-ready frame. His Pinoyliga stats reflect a consistent contributor, averaging 9.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game with a strong 57.7% field goal rate. At 6-foot-4, Andrews projects as a wing with upside on both ends.
Dave Ando, a 6-foot-7 center, brings interior size and professional readiness from his time with UST and the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 program. Known for his shot-blocking and rebounding, Ando also posted a strong showing in the PBA D-League with Builders Warehouse–UST, logging a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double before the pandemic interrupted play. His mix of traditional post presence and 3×3 experience makes him an intriguing fit for PBA systems valuing physicality.
John Barba enters the draft as one of the NCAA’s top scorers, notching multiple 20-point outings in Season 100 with the Lyceum Pirates. A former juniors MVP back in Season 95, Barba has shown consistent scoring touch and clutch timing. At 6-foot-2, he plays primarily at shooting guard, leveraging a quick release and fearless drives to the rim. His steady development through Lyceum’s system and strong statistical output make him one of the more polished scorers in this year’s pool.
John Galinato rounds out the group as a cerebral guard with roots in Cebu and a collegiate career at National University. Known for his hustle and composure, Galinato previously starred for Chiang Kai Shek College before transitioning to NU. His ability to manage tempo and play within team structures adds value to PBA teams needing dependable guard play.
Together, this five-player class represents a cross-section of basketball paths — from rising NCAA scorers and MPBL starters to U.S.-trained guards and FIBA 3×3 athletes. With representation from Edgar Mangahas, their collective entry into the 2025 PBA Draft adds depth and variety to a draft class already drawing attention from scouts and coaches across the league.
