Daily Fantasy: Week 2 Preview
Match 1: OKC @ DAL
The Oklahoma City Thunder are still undefeated, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been playing as expected. The only challenge they have is the potential absence of two key stars–Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams. Nevertheless, the Thunder has a lot of firepower and this team runs deep–Alex Caruso, Cason Wallace, Isaiah Joe, and many more. The Dallas Mavericks might be experiencing growing pains, as one of their two losses was against the lowly Washington Wizards. Cooper Flagg is a star in the making, but he is going to need some help if they want to win more games.
Suggested Daily Fantasy lineup:
- Captain: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
- Vice Captain: Anthony Davis
- Key picks: PJ Washington, Cooper Flagg, Chet Holmgren, Alex Caruso
Match 2: DEN @ MIN
It will be interesting to see the Denver Nuggets play against the Minnesota Timberwolves. These are two teams who are seen as legitimate threats to the Thunder’s reign in the Western Conference. Both teams have a good mix of stars, young up and comers, and trusty veterans.
Suggested Daily Fantasy lineup:
- Captain: Nikola Jokic
- Vice Captain: Anthony Edwards
- Key picks: Aaron Gordon, Jamal Murray, Julius Randle, Jaden McDaniels
Match 3: NYK @ MIL
The Eastern Conference has a power vacuum, and the New York Knicks is one of the few teams who are expected to come out on top this season. Giannis Antetokounmpo is still a beast, and the Knicks’ style of play will surely be tested. The Bucks have acquired center Myles Turner, and it will be interesting to see them challenged by the Brunson and Towns-led Knicks.
Suggested Daily Fantasy lineup:
- Captain: Giannis Antetokounmpo
- Vice Captain: Karl Anthony Towns or Jalen Brunson
- Key picks: Cole Anthony, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby
Match 4: LAL @ MEM (Emirates NBA Cup Match)
The Los Angeles Lakers are in a weird place–the absence of LeBron James may actually be doing them a favor. This season, it seems like Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves are the 1–2 punch. Rui Hachimura and Deandre Ayton have both been reliable as well. The Memphis Grizzlies are still a relatively young team, but it seems like Ja Morant will not be enough to test the Lakers even with LeBron’s absence.
Suggested Daily Fantasy lineup:
- Captain: Luka Doncic
- Vice Captain: Ja Morant
- Key picks: Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, Deandre Ayton, Cedric Coward
