Padrigao sprains ankle in UST loss to UP, aims to return vs FEU
UST guard Forthsky Padrigao sustained an ankle sprain during the third quarter of the Growling Tigers’ loss to the UP Fighting Maroons on Wednesday, November 5.
Padrigao appeared to twist his ankle midway through the period and was helped to the bench. He later returned to the sideline in the final quarter but was not reinserted into the game as UST fell short against the second-placed Maroons (7-3).
According to initial information from the UST camp, the injury resulted in swelling but appears manageable. No MRI has been conducted at this time. The playmaker is targeting a return for UST’s next assignment on Sunday against the FEU Tamaraws, who currently sit at 4–6.
The Growling Tigers hold a 5–5 record and are in a three-way tie with Ateneo and Adamson for the last Final Four spot in the UAAP Season 88 standings. Padrigao, who had twisted his ankle during warm-ups before Wednesday’s match but still managed to play, aggravated the same injury in the third quarter.
His availability for Sunday’s game remains day-to-day pending further evaluation.
