Precious Momowei Transfers to CEU, Set for UCAL Run

Precious Momowei has transferred to the CEU Scorpions and will compete in the UCAL beginning in 2026, according to his manager Anthony Brodett of Phenom Sports Management.

The move comes after Momowei’s departure from the UE Red Warriors.

Brodett confirmed that Momowei, who had his first practice at CEU on Saturday, January 17, will not be required to sit out a residency year and will have two full seasons of playing eligibility starting in 2026.

The transfer gives the Scorpions an experienced frontline presence and provides Momowei a clear path to continue his development.

“We’re excited for Precious’ development at CEU under the guidance of Joe Silva who once helped develop a teenage Kai Sotto,” Brodett said. “We wish UE the best in their goal of trying to win a UAAP championship and we depart the school with no hard feelings as they go on a new direction. We feel them losing Precious will be CEU’s gain.”

Momowei leaves UE after a productive UAAP run in which he established himself as one of the league’s most reliable interior players. In UAAP Season 88, he averaged close to 17 points and nearly 14 rebounds per game, anchoring the Red Warriors on both ends of the floor. His combination of size, activity, and rebounding made him a consistent matchup problem, even in losses against the league’s top contenders.

With no residency requirement, Momowei is expected to play an immediate role for the Scorpions.

Beyond college basketball, Brodett emphasized that the focus remains on long-term growth rather than guarantees at the next level. “We can’t guarantee Momowei will become a professional player in Europe but we’ll do our best to help prepare him for the pro level,” he said.

Under Silva’s program, CEU has leaned into player development as much as results, and Momowei’s arrival fits that direction.

For Momowei, the move represents a fresh start, extended eligibility, and another opportunity to refine his game with professional aspirations in mind.
