Allen Liwag is Officially a Sneaker Free Agent
In recent years, Allen Liwag showcased his dominance in the collegiate ranks after capturing back-to-back MVP honors and helping the Benilde Blazers secure their ticket to the NCAA Season 100 Men’s Basketball Finals.
The 24-year-old Cavite native wants to bring the crown back to Taft before capping off his standout college career. During his last 2 seasons with the green and white, he put up a combined per game averages of 14.92 points, 10.52 rebounds, and 2.24 assists a contest.
With that type of resume, it is evident that he is one of the collegiate stars who deserves a sneaker deal.
While the pre-season leagues are ongoing, the reigning NCAA MVP was spotted wearing a variety of Kobe Protros including Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever Kobe 5s, Siempre Mio Kobe 8s, and the Girl Dad Kobe 4s during the NSAC and Filoil tournaments.
The former EAC general announced that he is currently a sneaker free agent. He first mentioned that the Kobes are his top choice due to its impressive comfort and court feel.
“So far kasi puro Kobes na yung ginagamit simula nung na try ko siya kasi sobrang sarap sa paa and sobrang comfortable ako kapag yun yung suot ko,” Liwag told ALL-STAR Magazine.
“Yung Kobe 5 kasi tuwing yun yung gamit ko sobrang lambot niya sa paa and sobrang ganda din ng laro ko so sa tingin ko yun talaga yung pinaka best shoe para sakin ngayon.”
The 6-foot-6 big man stated that Sabrinas are his second preferred hoop sneaker owing to its superior grip. He is also grateful to any sneaker brand that will tender him an offer.
“Siguro masasabi ko yung Sabrina, nung na-try ko din siya sobrang okay din at sobrang kapit kasi ng Sabrina at malambot din siya sa paa, so noong unang na try ko siya di ko siya, na-break in sa practice or kahit shooting lang diretso game agad and sobrang nagustuhan ko yung feel sa kanya,” he said.
“Syempre kung may mag ooffer diba, kumbaga nung nag start padin tayo nung bata tayo, nangagarap din tayo na maging katulad ng mga idols natin na magkaroon ng sariling sapatos diba?”
Liwag added:
“Sakin kahit ano kumbaga magiging grateful nalang ako kung ano man yung brand na lumapit and offer siguro, kasi ako di naman ako namimili kung anong brand, basta malaking bagay na sakin at malaking tulong sakin yung magkaroon ng endorsement.”
