Fil-Australian Jett Wilson Commits to UST Growling Tigers

The UST Growling Tigers have secured the commitment of Filipino-Australian guard Jett Wilson, adding a promising long-term piece to their roster.

Anthony Brodett of Phenom Sports Management confirmed the development to ALL-STAR, sharing that Wilson will have five years of playing eligibility when he begins his collegiate career with UST.

Brodett believes Wilson will continue to develop and improve under head coach Pido Jarencio and his staff. Wilson and his camp are also grateful to UST for giving him the opportunity to pursue his education and basketball career in the Philippines.

The 18-year-old prospect was raised on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, where he gained experience competing against older and more physically developed players. Wilson is an aggressive scoring guard, using his athleticism, length, and physicality to attack the basket while also contributing as a rebounder and secondary playmaker.

At the club level, Jett played for programs such as the Gold Coast Waves and North Gold Coast Seahawks. He was recognized as an age-group Most Valuable Player during separate U17 and U18 seasons with the Seahawks and Hurricanes organization.

Wilson strengthened his profile after arriving in the Philippines and playing for Team Clifford in the Players Only Prelude. He finished the tournament with 179 total points and 13 steals, earning a place on the Mythical First Team.

The move to UST gives Wilson a stable collegiate destination as he transitions from Australian youth and representative basketball into the UAAP. With five seasons of eligibility ahead of him, the Growling Tigers will have considerable time to develop the Fil-Australian prospect into a potential contributor within Jarencio’s system.
