Team Falcons Sweep Aurora to Claim MPL PH Season 18 Top Seed

Team Falcons PH swept M7 World Champion Aurora Gaming PH, 2-0, to seize the top spot in the MPL Philippines Season 18 standings with a stellar 9-1 match record on Sunday of Week 6 at Victoria Sports Tower in Quezon City.

The Green Falcons took advantage of Team Liquid PH’s absence, with the defending champions representing the Philippines at the 20th Asian Games MLBB tournament, to move into first place.

Falcons also defeated ONIC PH, 2-1, earlier on Saturday before completing their dominant 2-0 victory over Aurora.

In their rematch, Team Falcons quickly dispatched Aurora Gaming with a dominant 2-0 sweep, following their marathon Week 4 encounter where Game 3 lasted 39 minutes and 37 seconds.

In Game 1, Team Falcons drafted Estes for Owgwen to perfectly complement Hadji’s Kimmy pick in the mid lane.

Owgwen’s Estes provided too much sustain and healing for Aurora to overcome, as Team Falcons raced to a deathless 4-0 kill lead beyond the six-minute mark before Hadji was picked off by Yue and Domeng’s Feather Airstrike-Jab combo.

Understanding Team Falcons’ advantage in teamfights, Aurora had Koyl’s Hirara prioritize two of the three Turtles in hopes of turning the momentum around.

However, Team Falcons maintained the pressure as SuperMarco’s Aulus secured a double kill during the 8-minute clash in the top lane, helping his team build a 3,000-gold lead and a 6-1 advantage.

The moment of truth came when Aurora made a crucial miscalculation by chasing down Team Falcons in the top-side jungle at the 14-minute mark, ultimately leading to a wipeout after Hadji’s Kimmy secured a double kill.

SuperMarco’s Aulus finished with a perfect 7-0-6 KDA to propel Team Falcons to a 1-0 matchpoint.

Game 2 saw Team Falcons take control early, but Aurora refused to back down, executing a brilliant counter-engage during the 8-minute mid-lane clash.

Nathzz’s three-man Throne of Ruin setup and double kill countered Flap’s Fatal Links-Flicker combo, allowing Aurora to come away with a favorable 2-for-4 kill trade and cut into Team Falcons’ 2,000-gold lead.

Aurora fought valiantly and managed to even out the gold lead, but Team Falcons found the perfect opening to seal the game, with Flap’s Atlas executing a Fatal Links-Flicker combo that set up SuperMarco’s Aulus to take down Domeng’s Obsidia.

With a 4-vs-3 advantage, the Green Falcons forced their way through and locked the tower to seal the sweep.

Hadji’s Eudora led Team Falcons with his crowd control capabilities and a commendable 5-1-5 KDA performance. 

The sweep pushed Team Falcons to a 9-1 record, allowing the Green Falcons to finish Week 6 atop the MPL PH Season 18 standings.
