Bonel Sacro Commits to Mapua
Bonel Sacro has committed to the Mapua Cardinals, giving the Intramuros-based program another young prospect to develop as it enters a new era under head coach Chito Victolero.
The commitment was confirmed by Sacro’s manager, Anthony Brodett of Phenom Sports Management, who said the decision came after careful consideration and a clear belief that Mapua is the best place for the young player to grow.
Sacro will be eligible for five years in the NCAA beginning with Season 102 in 2026, giving him a full collegiate runway to develop his game with the Cardinals. According to Brodett, he served as a guide throughout the process, helping Sacro navigate his options before the player ultimately made the final call himself. In the end, Sacro chose Mapua because he felt it offered the right environment for his improvement, both as a player and as a person.
Sacro has quietly started to build his name in the Philippine basketball scene through the grassroots and club circuit. He has been lined up with Phenom Championship Clinic and Phenom-New Zealand Bluefire.

Sacro gained attention during the 2026 NBTC buildup. At 6-foot-3, he brings good size for a developing perimeter player and is excited to be a part of a system that values competitiveness, versatility, and preparation against high-level opponents. Before this latest step, Sacro had already shown flashes in youth-level competition.
Recently, he contributed 13 points in a Phenom victory over Arellano during a pre-NBTC tournament game, a sign that of production when matched up against quality opposition.
Under Victolero, Mapua is expected to continue shaping a disciplined and competitive identity, and Sacro now becomes one of the younger pieces who could grow within that structure over time.
His arrival also comes at an important moment for the Cardinals, who are looking to strengthen the roster as the program adjusts to a new coaching voice and the loss of other recruits.
