Jason Cibull Commits to DLSU, Set for UAAP 89

Jason Cibull has officially committed to the DLSU Green Archers and is set to bring his experience, shooting, and steady guard play to Taft for UAAP Season 89 in 2026, according to his manager, Anthony Brodett of Phenom Sports Management.

The commitment gives La Salle another mature backcourt option as the Green Archers continue to build a roster capable of contending for back-to-back championships at the highest level in Philippine collegiate basketball.

Cibull also made an immediate impression during La Salle’s recent championship run at the Loreto tournament in Agusan, where he showed the kind of composure and offensive versatility that could make him a valuable addition in the UAAP.

His performance in that title run only added to the growing excitement around his arrival, especially as the Green Archers look to strengthen their guard rotation with a player who can score, create, and make sound decisions under pressure.

The 6-foot guard comes to DLSU after playing for Stanislaus State in NCAA Division II in the United States. During the 2025-26 season, he appeared in 28 games and averaged 6.0 points, 1.5 assists, and 1.3 rebounds in 19.7 minutes per contest.

He shot 33.0 percent from three-point range and 89.7 percent from the free throw line. He also earned CSC Academic All-District honors, underscoring the balance he has shown as both a student and an athlete, an important quality in La Salle for student-athletes.

What stands out most about Cibull is the mix of skill and discipline he brings to the floor. He has shown that he can space the floor as a shooter, facilitate for teammates as a playmaker, and operate with poise in structured systems.

Those traits should fit well with La Salle’s style under head coach Topex Robinson.

His addition helps remedy the loss of Kean Baclaan, who was Jacob Cortez’s backcourt partner last year.

For DLSU, the commitment signals another important move as it prepares for the next UAAP campaign. For Cibull, it opens a new chapter in one of the most passionate basketball environments in the region.
