KarlTzy Doesn’t Believe In Curses
Ever since Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno made a rough decision in his career to transfer to ECHO in Season 9, there seems to be a curse lurking around him — the curse of first round exits when his team doesn’t finish first or second seed in the regular season.
That narrative followed KarlTzy like a shadow. But not anymore.
‘Hindi siya Curse.’
Many fans believed that KarlTzy was plagued by some kind of hex — the kind that doomed him to suffer early exits after each season they claimed the MPL title. But for him, it was never about that.
“Tingin ko hindi naman siya curse. Sadyang lumalakas lang din talaga yung mga teams kasi pinaghahandaan kami ng sobra,” he said humbly said. Ang maganda lang ngayon ay siguro nasanay na rin ako sa mindset na walang lower-bracket palagi.”
That mindset shift started all the way back at the recent 2025 MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) where the tournament format left them no room for error. No safety nets. No second chances
“Kasi noong MSC na iyon kahit anong place mo sa tournament wala talagang lower-bracket. Sobra naging malaki yung factor na iyon kaya nanalo kami ngayon,” he continued.
It’s that do-or-die mindset that has become part of their identity—and now, it’s paying off.
Locked In: Team Liquid Further Solidifies Their Rhythm
Even Coach Rodel “Arsy” Cruz had to admit: something has changed within the team. This MPL Season 16 Playoffs, TLPH feels different. They were sharper, hungrier, and more connected.
“Kaya siguro na sobrang in synch kami ngayon kasi lahat kami ay sobrang gigil na manalo. Walang nagbago sa amin. Kailangan lang talaga namin na maging consistent hanggang sa huli,” he shared.
The chemistry not only shows in their gameplay but in how they handle high pressure moments. No panic. No egos. Just five players with the same blood running in their veins.
The Golden Road Is Still Alive
With the MPL Season 15 title in their belt together with the recent MSC championship, KarlTzy and Team Liquid PH now finds themselves on a rare path — one that could lead them to the “Golden Road,” a perfect run through the year’s biggest MLBB tournaments.
But the GOAT remains grounded.
“Sana magtuloy-tuloy yung momentum na ito. Pero hindi ko naman sinasabi na sure win na,” he shared.
“Plano lang talaga namin ngayon ay mag-reset and paghandaan yung ONIC bukas.”
Third Time’s the Charm?
This season, tomorrow will be the third time that Team Liquid PH and ONIC PH will clash this season. The bad news? The Cavalry hasn’t beaten the Sonics even once this season.
Zero match wins. Two painful losses. However, KarlTzy knows what’s at stake.
“Dapat i-ready namin yung draft namin sa kanila. Mas talinuhan namin gumalaw and siguro huwag kami ma-hype or naso-sobrahan ng tapang. Kasi doon madalas kami natatalo,” he concluded.
The Curse Is Over But The War Isn’t
KarlTzy and Team Liquid’s season isn’t just about breaking a curse. It’s about rewriting the story that, for multiple seasons, fans thought they knew the ending.
Now, the tables have turned. The so-called curse? Gone.
But the hunger? It’s still there. And that hunger also runs with the whole team.
