Gatorade, DepEd roll out nationwide Fuel Tomorrow Academy
Gatorade has partnered with the Department of Education to launch the Fuel Tomorrow Academy, a nationwide program aimed at improving student wellness and strengthening school sports in junior high schools across the Philippines.
The initiative supports DepEd’s school sports agenda by promoting proper hydration, movement, and access to sports programs. It is part of PepsiCo’s pep+ strategy, which focuses on community partnerships and youth development.
The Fuel Tomorrow Academy is built on three pillars: Fueling the Mind, Fueling the Body, and Fueling the Soul. Gatorade and DepEd said the goal is to help students develop healthy habits that support both academic focus and athletic performance.

Three-phase rollout
The program will cover five regions and follow a three-phase rollout.
Scale: More than 6,650 schools will receive materials such as the Fuel Tomorrow Academy Playbook and the Fuel Up Move dance fitness routine. The routine was developed with the University of the Philippines College of Human Kinetics to encourage movement and teamwork.
Motivate: Five hundred schools will receive sports equipment to help strengthen grassroots sports programs and support the formation of school sports clubs.
Elevate: A nationwide caravan will visit 91 schools, bringing hands-on sessions that combine education, fitness, and coaching.
Building future athletes
Gatorade executives said the partnership highlights the brand’s push to “fuel potential” among young people.
“Through this partnership with DepEd, we aim to champion the athletes of tomorrow, helping them grow stronger and build a generation that values health, teamwork, and perseverance,” said Aditya Sheoran, PepsiCo Regional General Manager for Beverages in the Philippines, Malaysia, and Singapore.
Two new initiatives will accompany the rollout: a Player of the Year Award for standout student-athletes, and a new 237 ml Gatorade bottle formulated to meet DepEd’s Nutrition Guidelines for Beverages so it can be sold in schools.
DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara said the partnership strengthens the department’s push to expand school sports clubs and promote active lifestyles.
“With partners like Gatorade, we are taking this mission further, ensuring that our students remain healthy, active, and grounded in the values that sports promote,” Angara said.
