Love and Loyalty Amidst Choco Mucho Loss

Choco Mucho’s 5-set loss to Zus Thunderbelles yesterday cut their PVL On Tour journey short, but their fanbase remained optimistic for future matches.

Despite the tough defeat, the venue was awash with purple—fans donned their Choco Mucho uniforms and waved self-made banners, balloons, and tarpaulins, creating an electric atmosphere.

Loyalty Through Every Challenge

Shella Santos, a 30-year-old government worker from Taguig City, shares how volleyball helps her cope with the pressures of life. “Nawawala yung mga stress at anxiety pag andito na kami at nakikita na namin sila maglaro,” she explains.

The PVL’s on-tour setup hasn’t diminished their enthusiasm either—they follow the team wherever they play, proving that distance won’t weaken their bond with Choco Mucho.

“Ever since nasa Ateneo palang si Deanna noong college, may supporters na,” Shella highlights.

The fan loyalty has historic roots. Their connection to the team is grounded in years of shared experiences and growing admiration for the players’ character.

More than just fans, they see the players’ true essence. While outsiders might label some as “masungit,” the fans know better: “Sobrang buti nila sa fans nila… kami na totoong fans yung nakakaalam kung gaano sila ka-humble saamin.”

A Love Story Born Through Volleyball

Within this sea of purple stands a unique tale of love sparked by mutual admiration for Choco Mucho.

This beautiful love story between two strangers highlights how sports can bring people together beyond the court. Their relationship blossomed amid cheering crowds and shared hopes, showing that fandom can create meaningful human connections.

“Nagsimula talaga ako dito sa Deanna Wong Philippines para sumuporta, pero hindi ko inaasahan na dito ko rin mahahanap yung partner ko,” Shella shares warmly.

Shella Santos met Emilita De Jesus, 58, from Bulacan, through supporting Deanna Wong.

For Shella and Emilita, being part of this fanbase has brought joy and companionship that enrich their everyday lives.

Through challenges and heartbreaks on the court, Choco Mucho’s fans carry this story as a testament to how supporting a team is more than just watching games—it’s about forming bonds that uplift life itself.
