Daily Fantasy Week 14: Hell Hath No Fury
The starters of the 75th NBA All-Star Game have been named, and a lot of fans are quite unhappy with the poll outcome. We explore who the scorned are, as they might drop 50 on their next opponents.
Match 1: The Los Angeles Lakers vs the Los Angeles Clippers
It will be weird to see the All-Star game without LeBron in the starting line-up. The last time that happened was 2004, when Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, Yao Ming, Tim Duncan, and Kevin Garnett were the headliners. In this game against their crosstown rivals, LeBron will probably chill though, but James Harden, former fan favorite who is now 12th in fan votes in the western conference, might explode–more so that Kawhi is not playing. It would be unwise to count out the Clippers as the have won 8 out of their last 10 games.
Suggested Daily Fantasy lineup:
Captain: Luka Doncic
Vice Captain: James Harden
Key picks: LeBron James, Ivica Zubac, Deandre Ayton, John Collins
Match 2: The Minnesota Timberwolves vs the Utah Jazz
Anthony Edwards was incredibly snubbed despite posting MVP numbers this season. He just dropped 55 against the San Antonio Spurs last Sunday, and teammate Julius Randle was quick to point out the travesty. Expect AE5 to use this as fuel in their next games. This is a bit scary, as he can drop 40-50 points unprovoked.
Suggested Daily Fantasy lineup:
Captain: Anthony Edwards
Vice Captain: Julius Randle
Key picks: Walker Kessler, Keyante George, Jaden McDaniels, Rudy Gobert
Match 3: The Cleveland Cavaliers vs the Charlotte Hornets
Cavaliers fans are salty that Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks is starting over hometown hero Donovan Mitchell. Statistically, Spida is superior, and he also impacts his team in a bigger way. Hopefully, he drops 50 on LaMelo and the Hornets.
Suggested Daily Fantasy lineup:
Captain: Donovan Mitchell
Vice Captain: LaMelo Ball
Key picks: Evan Mobley, Brandon Miller, Darius Garland, Miles Bridges, Kon Knueppel
Match 4: The San Antonio Spurs vs the Houston Rockets
It will be weird not seeing LeBron start, but it will also be weird not seeing KD start. They have been fixtures of the all-star game for so long–-generational talents who have breathed life and excitement into the league. Kevin Durant has been great this season, guiding the young Rockets like Master Splinter to the Turtles.
Suggested Daily Fantasy lineup:
Captain: Kevin Durant
Vice Captain: Victor Wembanyama
Key picks: Alperen Sengun, De’Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, Amen Thompson, Jabari Smith Jr.
