Daily Fantasy Week 23: The Backslide

Here comes the backslide!

It is a mere 2 weeks before the season ends and the NBA Playoffs begin. While some teams are having red hot streaks, some fan favorites seem to have backslid.

Match 1: The Denver Nuggets vs the Phoenix Suns (Wednesday, March 25)

The Denver Nuggets were just behind the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs early in the season. It is obvious that aside from the Thunder and the Spurs, the Nuggets are the most complete and consistent team in the western conference. Blame it on their injury woes or on some bad juju, bad they have been “mid” since the all-star break. They are now tied for 5th with the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Nuggets have to play better if they want to stay competitive for a better playoff seed.

Suggested Daily Fantasy lineup:

Captain: Nikola Jokic

Vice Captain: Devin Booker

Key picks: Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, Tim Hardaway Jr, Collin Gillespie, Jalen Green

Match 2: The New Orleans Hornets vs the New York Knicks (Wednesday, March 25)

The New York Knicks have a lot of potential in the eastern conference. They have held a 12-5 record since the All-Star break, which is not too shabby at all. They have won some tough games and lost some easy ones–critics are quick to point out their inconsistencies. However, at the end of the day, they are still the #3 seed, and they have a golden opportunity to get a better seed now that Detroit’s Cade Cunningham could be gone for the remainder of the regular season.

Suggested Daily Fantasy lineup:

Captain: Karl Anthony-Towns

Vice Captain: Jalen Brunson

Key picks: Zion Williamson, OG Anunoby, Saddiq Bey, Trey Murphy III, Dejounte Murray

Match 3: The Houston Rockets vs the Minnesota Timberwolves (Thursday, March 26)

No Anthony Edwards means that the Houston Rockets could have an easier game than anticipated. The Rockets have Kevin Durant, but their point guard woes have been hounding them since January. Reed Sheppard needs to step up his game in the absence of Fred VanVleet. Alperen Sengun needs to be more consistent. On the other side, the Wolves should take this opportunity to give their other players valuable minutes while the Antman is out.

Suggested Daily Fantasy lineup:

Captain: Kevin Durant

Vice Captain: Alperen Sengun

Key picks: Julius Randle, Jaden McDaniels, Naz Reid, Rudy Gobert, Amen Thompson

Match 4: The Chicago Bulls vs the Philadelphia 76ers (Thursday, March 26)

When the season started, the Bulls were once at the top of the eastern conference standings. Now, they are considered a bad team with an already failed season. The 76ers are currently 7th, and their injury woes have gotten the better of them throughout the season. The lone bright spot was the emergence of Tyrese Maxey as their number one scorer, and the high-potential rookie VJ Edgecombe. Embiid and Maxey are both out together with a bunch of their role-players, so the Bulls might just stand a chance.

Suggested Daily Fantasy lineup:

Captain: Quentin Grimes

Vice Captain: VJ Edgecombe

Key picks: Justin Edwards, Dominick Barlow, Matas Buzelis, Collin Sexton, Leonard Miller
