Intriguing basketball talent Moses Marial Mandiria has officially confirmed that he is joining the De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Archers.
The 6′10″ power forward/center, who made online headlines with his shot-blocking and inside presence in recent months, is expected to add size and defensive grit to the Green Archers’ rotation of FSAs, which currently includes mainly Bright Nwankwo and Henry Agunanne. His commitment marks another major pickup for the team as they prepare for the upcoming UAAP seasons.
He will serve a year of residency and begin his four years of eligibility in Season 89 next year, 2026.
Mandiria himself confirmed the move during the DLSU pep rally on Wednesday to ALL-STAR contributor Chinyere Cabas, moving to the UAAP after previously playing with St. Claire.
“La Salle is a very prestigious school. It’s one of the biggest schools. My dream is to go pro. The easiest way I can go pro is to be the best and be with the best,” Mandiria said in an exclusive interview.
His move to La Salle started when DLSU’s coaches noticed his potential. Ultimately both La Salle and St. Clare had a dialogue, paving the way for the FSA’s transition to the UAAP.
“They liked my style of play and think I can develop into a great player,” he said of the Green Archers.
“I’ve seen a lot of good players here and maybe I can follow them or be better.”
The 19-year-old joins La Salle’s team A frontline at a time where they will no longer have Michael Phillips, who is about to enter his fifth playing campaign with the green and white in UAAP Season 88. The basketball tournaments begin on Saturday, September 20, at UST, with the Green Archers scheduled to take on the Adamson Soaring Falcons.
“The system is different but I think it’s better for my future. It’s going to take a while but it’s a good thing I’m in residency season now so I’m going to fit in for the UAAP season,” Mandiria added.
