UAAP champion Kai Ballungay declares for 2024 PBA Draft

The list of 2024 PBA Draft applicants added another possible game-changer as former Ateneo Blue Eagle Kai Ballungay has submitted his name in the list of options for PBA teams to choose from, he confirmed on Thursday, July 4.

Ballungay is a 6-foot-7 wing who can be effective both in the paint and in the perimeter. In his Season 86 campaign with Ateneo he averaged 11.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists a contest. His performance in the Blue Eagles’ UAAP men’s basketball title run the season before was instrumental in securing the crown against rival University of the Philippines.

“It’s a blessing to be able to come back to the Philippines and begin the next chapter of my basketball career,” Ballungay said in a statement to ALL-STAR.

Ballungay, who played with Stanislaus State before moving to Ateneo, is expected to contend for one of the top picks of the draft along with the likes of Justine Baltazar and Sedrick Barefield.

If the force stays strong with the multi-talented prospect, he will be a name to watch out for in the years to come.
