Ice Danting: The Heart of the Growling Tigers

For Glenn Isaac “Ice” Danting, basketball has always been more than a sport — it’s family, faith, and fun rolled into one.

The second-year shooting guard from Apalit, Pampanga first fell in love with the game in his own backyard, thanks to his dad, who built a mini court just for him.

That early spark never faded. Today, wearing the gold and white of the UST Growling Tigers, Ice plays with equal parts heart and humility; a homegrown kid making good on a dream that started on a garage court.

His UAAP debut against La Salle in Season 87 remains his proudest moment so far. Not because of stats, but because he “played with heart.”

Off the court, Ice is exactly what his name suggests: cool, charming, and effortlessly funny. He’s the type to call sleep his “pre-game ritual,” joke about love emails, and still deliver an answer so wholesome you can’t help but smile.

With his smooth mix of sincerity and swagger, it’s no surprise he’s fast becoming one of UST’s rising talents — hydrated skin and all.
