UAAP Suspends DLSU’S Marasigan Following DQ Foul vs NU

La Salle swingman Vhoris Marasigan has been suspended by the UAAP Commissioner’s Office following his disqualifying foul during the Green Archers’ recent game against the NU Bulldogs in the ongoing Season 88 men’s basketball tournament.

The league announced the decision after reviewing the incident that occurred in the second quarter of the match, where Marasigan was assessed a disqualifying foul after making contact with NU FSA Omar John.

The call resulted in his ejection and was later elevated to the Commissioner’s Office for further evaluation.

According to UAAP officials, the decision was made in line with the league’s rules on sportsmanship and player conduct. The suspension will sideline Marasigan for one game, dealing a blow to La Salle’s current 6-4 campaign as the team battles for positioning in the Final Four race.

DLSU’s next contest is against rival Ateneo on Sunday, November 9.

Marasigan’s absence leaves a notable gap in La Salle’s rotation. The 6-foot-2 guard has been emerging as one of the team’s key contributors this season, providing energy and scoring off the wing. His performance has been a bright spot for the defending champions, who now face a crucial stretch of games without his presence.

La Salle has not issued an official statement on the suspension, but the team is expected to adjust its rotation in upcoming matchups as they look to maintain momentum in the standings. The Green Archers’ next outing will test how well the squad can respond without one of its rising young players on the floor, in addition to the injuries already suffered by Mason Amos and Kean Baclaan.
