OhMyV33nus Was Once Invited to Coach SIBOL

Years before Johnmar Villaluna, aka OhMyV33nus, became one of the most recognizable leaders in Philippine esports, she was already on SIBOL’s radar as a potential coach.

During the formation of the Philippine national team for the 30th Southeast Asian Games in 2019, Mitch Liwanag revealed that OhMyV33nus was considered for a role within the coaching staff.

“We also tried to ask OhMyv33nus to become part of the coaching staff but she couldn’t make it,” Liwanag told ALL-STAR.

Clarifying her involvement in that decision, Liwanag emphasized that the invitation wasn’t about gameplay roles but leadership from the sidelines.

The revelation sheds light on how early OhMyV33nus’ tactical mind and leadership qualities were already recognized at the national level, even before her most celebrated competitive runs.

At the time, Liwanag herself was embedded in SIBOL’s acquisition and planning process, helping select the lineup that would represent the Philippines at the SEA Games.

“During the combine, ako yung kasama nila sa pagpili ng players. During the planning stage, I was there.”

While OhMyV33nus ultimately couldn’t take on the role, the invitation itself underscores how close she came to shaping SIBOL’s journey from behind the scenes.

OhMyV33nus Legacy

OhMyV33nus’ legacy in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang was built patiently, title by title, season by season.

As the steady center of Blacklist International, she led the team through multiple MPL Philippines championships and toward a defining triumph at the M3 World Championship, where discipline and collective trust became a winning language. Individually, she was named Regular Season MVP in MPL PH Season 10, and went on to set the league’s all-time assists record, achievements that spoke less of dominance than of generosity. Her work extended beyond the league, helping secure a SEA Games gold medal for the Philippines in 2023, and later earning her a place in the MPL Philippines Hall of Legends.
