What Oheb Said Before M7 Hits Different Now

Before M7 World Championship, when Team Liquid Philippines were preparing to fly to Indonesia, Kiel Soriano—better known as Oheb—sat down for a conversation that now reads very differently in hindsight.

The interview happened on January 3, weeks before the tournament began. At the time, it captured a player deep in preparation: alone in boot camp on New Year’s Eve, grinding through practices, chasing what he described as the ultimate prize in Mobile Legends esports.

Today, with Oheb currently on the inactive roster of Team Liquid Philippines and having publicly said he resigned on February 6, 2026, the conversation offers a revealing look at his state of mind before the world championship run.

What stands out most is not the ambition to win another title but the clarity with which he spoke about money.

‘Yung nagda-drive sa akin, pera na.’

Even before M7, Oheb openly admitted that financial security had become his main motivation after achieving many of the competitive milestones in his career.

More on pera.

He explained that the goal was no longer just trophies but investments and businesses that could outlive his playing career.

When asked what he planned to do with the money, his answer was pragmatic rather than romantic.

He had already climbed the mountain. What remained, in his own words, was simple: to earn enough to secure a future beyond esports.
