Henry Suico Commits to UST Growling Tigers
Henry Suico, one of the Philippines’ top high school guards in the 2026 class, has committed to the UST Growling Tigers, his manager Ronald Dadivas of Agent D Sports Management and UST team manager Eric Cruz told ALL-STAR Magazine.
Suico, a Cebu native and one of the most sought-after prospects in the current recruiting cycle, made his final decision after weighing offers and strong interest from several UAAP and NCAA programs. According to Dadivas, the choice ultimately came down to De La Salle University and the University of Santo Tomas, with Suico opting for UST because of the opportunity to step into a larger role early in his collegiate career.
The 6-foot-1 guard believed the Growling Tigers’ program provided the best pathway for immediate development, including more playing time and on-court reps from the start of his freshman campaign.
Suico built his reputation as one of the country’s premier young playmakers during his high school career in Cebu. Known for his court vision, feel for the game, and ability to control tempo, he emerged as a key figure for the SHS-AdC Magis Eagles in the CESAFI.
“I chose UST because i believe that’s where I’ll grow as a person and as basketball player,” Suico told ALL-STAR.
His performances in Cebu also helped him earn recognition on the national stage. In 2023, Suico was among a select group of Filipino prospects invited to participate in the NBA Academy Asia Development Camp in Singapore, where he competed alongside elite youth players from across the region and gained exposure to international-level coaching and competition.

Earlier in his development, Suico spent time with the Ateneo Blue Eaglets program, further sharpening his skills against top junior competition in the Philippines.
At UST, Suico is expected to join a program that has been steadily building toward returning to the upper tier of the UAAP. His arrival adds another young guard to the Growling Tigers’ backcourt rotation and gives the coaching staff a playmaker capable of orchestrating the offense and creating opportunities for teammates.
Suico has already suited up as UST’s first-string point guard in recent tune-up games.
For Suico, the decision represents the next step in a journey that has taken him from Cebu’s grassroots basketball scene to national development camps and now to one of the UAAP’s most historic programs. With the opportunity for immediate minutes and continued growth, the Tigers will be looking for the young guard to translate his high school success into the college game.
