Former Green Archer Justin Buenaventura Transfers to Lyceum
Fil-American guard Justin Buenaventura has transferred to Lyceum of the Philippines University and will join the Pirates in the NCAA, his manager Anthony Brodett of Phenom Sports Management confirmed.
Buenaventura will serve a one-year residency in 2026 before becoming eligible to play for LPU beginning NCAA Season 103 next year. He will have four full years of playing eligibility with the Pirates, who are currently coached by recent hire Jamike Jarin.
According to Brodett, Buenaventura’s move to Lyceum was mainly driven by his desire to get more opportunities to grow as a basketball player.
The 6-foot guard previously joined the De La Salle University program after coming from Plano Senior High School in Texas. A left-handed guard known for his shooting and scoring ability, Buenaventura also played in the United States grassroots scene in Dallas.
Buenaventura has also been part of Filipino basketball circles through Phenom-backed teams. He suited up for La Salle in preseason and invitational tournaments.
His move to LPU gives the Pirates another talented recruit to develop as they continue to build for the coming NCAA seasons.
