PLDT Standouts Honor the Mothers Behind Their Success
The road back to the podium was never walked alone for the PLDT High Speed Hitters.
Fresh off their bronze-medal finish in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference, PLDT standouts Savi Davison, Jessey de Leon, Kath Arado, and Alleiah Malaluan took time to recognize the women who helped shape their journeys both on and off the court.
For Davison, her mother’s support was never rooted in pressure or accolades. Instead, it was built on reassurance and trust.

“She never put pressure on me to achieve accolades,” Davison shared, adding that her mother constantly reminded her that her best would always be enough.
That steady support helped Davison grow into one of PLDT’s top performers during the conference.

Meanwhile, de Leon will be celebrating Mother’s Day from afar, relying on video calls to stay connected with her family.
“I’m so grateful for her and for everything she’s sacrificed for our family,” de Leon said. “She’s shown me what it really means to care for her children.”

For team captain Arado, distance has long been part of the sacrifice. The Best Libero awardee reflected on her mother’s decision to work abroad as a caregiver to provide for their family in Iligan City.
“I wouldn’t be where I am today without her,” Arado said as she thanked her mother for the sacrifices and support given to her and her siblings.

Malaluan echoed the same gratitude, calling her mother her “number one supporter” throughout her volleyball career.
“Mommy, thank you for everything you’ve done for me,” Malaluan said in a message dedicated to her mother. “Know that I am really grateful to call you my mom.”
After ending their campaign with a podium finish, the High Speed Hitters now carry another reminder beyond medals and milestones — that behind every athlete is a support system that rarely gets the spotlight, but often makes the biggest difference.
