Brandon Yutuc’s Move to CSB Built on Familiar Foundation
For Brandon Yutuc, committing to De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde was not just about finding a college team. It was also about staying in an environment where he felt he could continue growing.
The former Benilde-LSGH Greenies team captain has committed to the Blazers as he moves up to the seniors level, keeping him within the La Salle system after his time at La Salle Greenhills.
“I chose De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde because I believe it’s the best place for me to grow as a student-athlete, especially since I also came from La Salle Green Hills,” Brandon said in an exclusive interview.
Yutuc, a 6-foot-4 wing player, developed into one of LSGH’s key pieces in the NCAA juniors division. He was part of the Greenies squad that reached the Season 100 juniors finals, then later took on a bigger leadership role as team captain in Season 101.
His game has been built around physicality, rebounding, defense, and steady contributions rather than flash. During Season 101, he showed he could impact games in different ways, including a 12-point, 11-rebound outing in LSGH’s win over San Sebastian.
That background gives CSB another young piece with size, experience, and familiarity with the program’s culture.
Brandon said he had other schools to consider, but the connection with Benilde ultimately stood out.
“I had other schools as options, but DLS-CSB felt like the best fit for me as I move forward in my college career,” he said.
Yutuc’s goals are simple: get better, adjust to the college game, and help the team however he can.
“As a Blazer, I hope to improve my game and help the team win, and grow on and off the court,” he said.
For CSB, the arrival of Brandon adds depth to the frontcourt and gives the program a player who has already gone through high-pressure games in the juniors ranks.
His Season 100 finals experience, leadership role in Season 101, and recent stint with Phenom-New Zealand Bluefire in the NBTC National Finals all point to a player who has been steadily preparing for the next level.
Still, Brandon knows the jump to seniors basketball will require work. He said his contribution will start with the basics.
“I plan to contribute through hard work, discipline, and being a good teammate,” he said.
It is a grounded approach from a player entering a bigger stage. After building his name with the Greenies, Brandon now moves to CSB with a chance to continue his development as both a student-athlete and a Blazer.
