BelDrei Shows How Athletes Complement Each Other

For many, BelDrei, perhaps the most-well loved tandem developed over the past month, is now beginning to ring a bell not just in the sporting world, but also in the entertainment circuit.

Fans are going gaga on social media with this new adored pair of Andrei Caracut, Rain or Shine’s rising star point guard, and Bella Belen, a former player of National University, member of Alas Pilipinas,  and one of the fresh faces seeing action for Capital 1 Solar Spikers, who were spotted forming a bond with a group of friends, over dinner or simple get-together.

For quite a number of times, Belen has been a consistent fixture during games of the Elasto Painters, cheering on Caracut.

On social media, fans,  particularly supporters of the Elasto Painters, and Belen’s strong following in the local volleyball circle, were teasing both personalities, but while they’ve been at the center of entertainment to be loved and adored, these athletes are more focused on concentrating at their respective professions.

Caracut believes Belen, who was instrumental in ending the NU Lady Bulldogs’ title drought, is both skilled and marketable, traits of a marquee player.

“Magaling naman yun, marketable pa,” added Caracut.

Even though they were not openly discussing their respective professions, they give reassurance to one another of support.

“Hindi naman namin napapag-usapan (yung careers namin). Parehas kaming athlete, pero nung last game nga, nagbibiro lang siya sinasabi niya, ‘kaya mo na yan’,” Caracut told ALL-STAR Magazine in an exclusive interview.

Caracut appeared to be on his way to a breakout performance in Game 3 of their best-of-seven semifinals series against Ginebra last Sunday where he scored 15 points, all of which coming from beyond the arc and happening in the first half.

Unfortunately, Caracut turned cold in the second half, going scoreless and the Elasto Painters dropped a 98-103 loss to the Gin Kings.

But on Wednesday, Belen was back cheering for Caracut, who contributed six points, but the rest of the local players, particularly their new recruits, stepped up big in the Elasto Painters’ 97-85 triumph to level the series at 2-2 apiece.

Whether that source of inspiration could serve as a lucky charm or not, Caracut believes that athletes should have accountability on how they approach their games.

“Bilang atleta, may kanya-kanya naman tayong adjustments,” he added. “For example, siya (Bella), kung manghihingi ng advice, siyempre magbibigay ako. Pero sa tingin ko, hindi na niya kailangan ng advice kasi magaling yun.”

BelDrei provided a spice of entertainment and cheesy moments to the already interesting semifinals series that has all the essentials of a certified blockbuster hit – drama, entertainment and unadulterated action and physicality on both ends.
