Daily Fantasy Heat Check #2: Dylan Harper

Dylan Harper was a rookie that did not play like one. He was the Spurs’ best player in the series against the New York Knicks. What will the next season be like for him?

The Heat Check series focuses on players who are “stat monsters,” producers who are cornerstones of all kinds of fantasy league teams and contests.

2025-2026 SEASON STATS

Dylan Harper

11.8 points per game

4 assists per game

3 rebounds per game

It is noteworthy that Dylan Harper really showed up in the Finals, and he exhibited tremendous maturity and growth as a player.

NBA FINALS STATS

18 points per game (.50 FG%)

3 assists per game

6.4 rebounds per game

He became the youngest player in Finals history to score at least 10 points in a game, and passed David Robinson for the most points by a rookie in a single Spurs postseason (251+ points). He also became only the second Spurs rookie to score in double figures in a Finals game (joining Manu Ginobili in 2003).

A lot of fans thought that Dylan Harper should have gotten more playing time in the Finals, as he did not play as if he were a rookie. He committed very few mistakes, and was able to create shots when the Spurs needed him to. He also rebounded well together with the other Spurs wings.

An increase in playing time can be expected from him this coming season. Building around the young Spurs core of Victor Wembanyama, Stephon Castle, and Dylan Harper will be the team’s focus this offseason. Some players who were part of this past season’s run may not be around for the next one, even if the team overexceeded expectations.

For Daily Fantasy Players: HOT! Dylan Harper will definitely get minutes, and definitely will produce points even in the face of elite defense. Wemby and Castle will cost more points to put in the line-up, which makes Harper an easy inclusion, almost an automatic pick.

Traditional Fantasy Players: HOT! Dylan Harper has earned a more prominent role in the rotation this coming season. He seems to be the type that does not get injured too frequently, and his scoring abilities and steady game presence will enable him to get some stats.
