Caprice Cayetano Finds Joy in Gaming and Every New “Sidequest”

For Caprice Cayetano, free time is all about trying something new.

Whether she’s making bracelets, playing mobile games, or planning to learn how to bake pastries, the 17-year-old is embracing what many Gen Zs call their “sidequest era”—discovering new hobbies and passions without feeling pressured to have everything figured out.

“Whenever I have free time after work, I explore different sidequests,” Caprice says. “I make bracelets, play mobile games, and hopefully soon, I’ll start baking pastries.”

Gaming has become one of her favorite ways to unwind, something she picked up through the people closest to her.

“I discovered mobile gaming through my cousins, who are also my best friends. They’re my gaming squad.”

For Caprice, trying different hobbies isn’t just about staying busy. It’s a way of learning more about herself.

“I think we Gen Zs enjoy having lots of sidequests because they help us discover new things about ourselves and even the paths we may want to pursue.”

One of those discoveries came through bracelet-making, a hobby inspired by her mother, who once created and sold handmade accessories.

“That’s where I realized how patient I can be,” she shares. “You string the beads one by one, and when you finish, there’s a different kind of fulfillment.”

She’s also hoping to take after her father in the kitchen by eventually learning how to bake pastries.

“I’m really excited to try baking pastries. If Daddy is known for his main dishes, maybe someday I’ll be known for pastries,” she says with a laugh.
