Kaya FC – Iloilo Make Six-Goal Statement in AWCL Opener

Kaya FC-Iloilo opened their AFC Women’s Champions League 2026/27 campaign in emphatic fashion, cruising past FC Ilbirs of Kyrgyzstan with a commanding 6-0 victory in Bishkek.

Fresh off their third consecutive PFF Women’s League title, Kaya carried their domestic momentum onto the continental stage, controlling the match from the opening whistle and leaving little doubt about their ambitions.

Alex Carpio led the charge with a brace, opening the scoring in the 25th minute with a header before adding another headed goal later in the match. Saki Yoshida, Maye Mendaño, Inday Tolentin and Marissa Vasquez also found the net as Kaya’s attack continued to pile on the pressure.

The result marks a perfect start to the preliminary stage for the Philippine champions, who are looking to return to the AWCL group stage after becoming the first Philippine women’s club to compete in the competition in 2024/25.

Kaya now turn their attention to Phnom Penh Crown FC of Cambodia on Thursday, with another win potentially putting them in a strong position to advance.
