Nxled Sweeps Defending Champion PLDT for First PVL Invitational Win

The Nxled Chameleons picked up their first win in the 2026 PVL Invitational Conference after sweeping defending champion PLDT High Speed Hitters, 25-19, 25-22, 25-20, on Tuesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

After opening the Invitiational with a four-set loss to Creamline, Nxled bounce back with a strong performance to improve its record at 1-1.

Nxled stayed in control throughout the match and pulled away late in the third set after the teams were tied at 16-all.

PLDT attempted to extend the match behind Savi Davison, but Nxled maintained its composure in the closing points.

Jov Fernandez put Nxled at match point at 24-19 before PLDT debutant Leila Cruz committed an attack error to end the match.

Phillips led the Chameleons with 13 points, including eight attacks, four aces, and a block.

De Guzman added 10 points while also contributing nine digs and six excellent receptions.

Nxled will next face EST Cola, while PLDT will look to rebound against Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday at the Araneta Coliseum.
