The Meralco Bolts are getting a familiar face back as three-time PBA Best Import of the Conference awardee Allen Durham has signed to join the team for the upcoming Governors’ Cup conference, manager Paolo Trillo confirmed to ALL-STAR Magazine.

The 36-year-old Durham, nicknamed “The Hulk,” had interest to return to Meralco for the chance of helping them win another PBA championship. The Bolts were interested to bring back someone who is familiar with the system and culture they have. After some discussion, the two sides came to an agreement.

Although not yet confirmed, there could also be the chance of Durham playing with the Bolts for the Commissioner’s Cup conference, although that would depend on the possibility of him once again playing in the Japan B. League.

Durham first came to the PBA as a replacement import for Barako Bull Energy in 2014, but he found his home years later with the Bolts who hired him as their Governors’ Cup reinforcement from 2016-2019. That streak was ended because of the pandemic in 2020. During his time as a Bolt, Durham propelled the team to three finals appearances which they lost each time against Ginebra in competitive fashion.

The Wyoming, Michigan native has also played in the Japan B. League and KBL. The most success he experienced playing in Asia was with the Ryuku Golden Kings when the team won a B. League title in 2023 with him being crowned Finals MVP.

The Bolts are coming off their first franchise title after beating San Miguel in last season’s All-Filipino Conference.
