Creamline’s Bea De Leon on Her UAAP Experience, Extends Support for Ateneo Lady Eagles
Flying-Titan-turned-Cool-Smasher, Bea De Leon, supplements her new club’s momentum, securing Creamline’s (CCS) eighth straight win of the Philippine Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference, versus the seventh-seeded Cherry Tiggo Crossovers last Thursday, February 6, 2025. The middle blocker started in all three sets and finished with 13 points, 8 attacks, 3 aces, and 2 blocks, limiting the opposition to just 55 markers compared to CCS’ 75.
During the postgame press conference, De Leon reflected on her performance, attributing her growth to her Katipunan-based roots where she spent five seasons and captured two titles for the blue-and-white. Since departing from Ateneo de Manila University in 2018, the puso (heart) infused culture remains intact, having veterans Alyssa Valdez, Dennise Lazaro, and Ella De Jesus present
“We have a lot to thank for in the UAAP, especially the spirit and yung puso. Coming from Ateneo, similar to what Ate Ly (Alyssa Valdez) has built, it’s been the same for me. The UAAP has been one of the best journeys and sobrang saya sa UAAP,” she mentioned.
With CCS and current National University Head Coach Sherwin Meneses across the table, she jokingly gazed at her mentor before motioning her support for the Ateneo Lady Eagles’ UAAP Season 87 campaign.
“Of course, to the Ateneo Lady Eagles, I wish you good luck. I’ve seen their past preseason games and we’re very hopeful about the team’s improvement and sana tuloy-tuloy yun coming into the season and I think it’s a very hopeful one for us,” she added.
