Ferdz Once Dreamed of Sailing the Seas. Now, He Navigates the MPL
In Camarines Norte, the middle child of two brothers and four sisters once dreamed of becoming a mariner. He studied in a Catholic school, graduated from senior high, and even went to Batangas to train at a maritime academy. But one decision changed everything: instead of sailing the seas, he chose to navigate the world of esports.
Ferdz recalls, thinking back to the day he convinced his parents to let him play. It was not an easy decision for them. To trade school for a game felt reckless, maybe even wasteful. But to Ferdz, it was not a game. It was a calling.
At home, his parents would see him hunched over his phone, grinding until sunrise, skipping occasions, devoting himself to the screen. He wasn’t chasing fun—he was chasing a future.
That passion earned him a shot at RRQ Kaito in MDL Philippines. The journey, however, was not instant. “Three years din po ako na nasa MDL,” he says. “Ineexpect ko po talaga na in the future, makakapasok po talaga ako sa MPL.”

It was in those three years that he learned the value of patience, of waiting for the right season. He remembers the early grind, queueing with names that would later become amateur legends.
When RRQ Philippines opened tryouts, only two were accepted. He was one of them. The path that began in the sleepless nights of Camarines Norte had taken its first shape.
Now, that path has brought him to the MPL, as the rookie of Team Falcons. The dream that once felt so far is now his reality.

But he is not just here to participate. He is here to prove. “Dito po sa Team Falcons, same po kami ng gigil na makabalik ulit sa kung ano man po sila in past seasons,” he says, his voice steady with ambition.
The lessons of the MDL remain with him. “Pakikisama. Unang una po pakikisama,” he says. To him, chemistry is not an abstract idea—it is the bedrock of winning.
Three years in MDL forged his patience. Team Falcons now demands his hunger. For Ferdz, the rookie from Camarines Norte who once dreamed of ships, the journey continues in an arena where only the most disciplined can stay afloat.
