Fil-Aussie Guard Jamil Aquino Commits to FEU Tamaraws

Melbourne-based Fil-Aussie guard Jamil Aquino has committed to play college basketball for the FEU Tamaraws in the UAAP, his manager Anthony “Brody” Brodett of Phenom Sports Management confirmed.

Aquino is expected to enter FEU with a full five years of eligibility, giving the Tamaraws a long-term backcourt piece as head coach Sean Chambers continues to build the program’s future core for the coming UAAP seasons.

Aquino has been playing in Australia with the Black Tigers in DLeague Australia, where he was named a 2025 All Star. DLeague Australia describes itself as a recreational and developmental league under Liga Australia and MBL for Filipino-Australian basketball players.

Statistically, Aquino showed two-way production in DLeague. His profile lists him at 11.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 2.2 steals and 0.8 blocks per game in DLeague 2K25 action with Black Tigers. In Summer League 2K25, he averaged 10.6 points, 1.4 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.0 steal over five games.

The commitment adds another young name to FEU’s developing pipeline. Chambers has repeatedly emphasized building around FEU’s internal culture and future pieces, with the Tamaraws already preparing for UAAP Season 89 and integrating new recruits into the program.

For Aquino, the move gives him a chance to test himself in one of the Philippines’ top collegiate leagues while representing the growing Fil-Aussie basketball connection. For FEU, it brings in a guard with overseas experience, all-star recognition in the Filipino-Australian basketball scene, and a full runway to grow within the Tamaraws system.
