Hunter Cruz-Dumont transfers to Adamson, eyes Season 89

Hunter Cruz-Dumont is set to continue his UAAP journey with the Adamson Soaring Falcons after departing from the University of the East. The Fil-Canadian guard, known for his size at the wing position, will spend this UAAP season in residency and is expected to suit up for Adamson in Season 89.

Cruz-Dumont arrived in the Philippines in 2023 alongside his brother Jack as part of UE’s recruitment push to bring in Fil-foreign talent. He was part of a wave of new additions to the Red Warriors roster but did not play any official UAAP games due to eligibility rules and injury recovery.

Now at Adamson, Cruz-Dumont will have one playing year left in the collegiate league. His move gives the Soaring Falcons an experienced and physically mature option for the 2026 campaign. Standing at 6-foot-5 with a background in Canadian university basketball, he brings size and international experience to a team that has consistently been in the mix for Final Four contention in recent years.

The transfer comes at a key time for Adamson, which has been reshaping its lineup following the departure of veterans. With a year to train and integrate into the system, Hunter is expected to be a key contributor once eligible.

His addition also adds depth to Adamson’s perimeter rotation and gives the coaching staff another wing capable of defending multiple positions. Though he’s yet to log many minutes in the UAAP, Cruz-Dumont’s pedigree and time spent adjusting to Philippine basketball could make him a valuable asset when Season 89 tips off.

As of now, there are no official statements from Adamson’s athletics department regarding his transfer, but sources within the collegiate basketball scene have confirmed his presence in team activities. He was also spotted during Adamson’s matchup against UP on Wednesday, September 24.
