Jace Miller Transfers to Lyceum After Promising Year with Letran
Rising Filipino-American guard Jace Miller (also known as Jace Miller-Aquiningoc) has officially committed to the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Pirates following a solid rookie campaign with the Colegio de San Juan de Letran Knights in NCAA Season 100. The move was confirmed by his representation, Fil-Nation Select, which announced that Miller will undergo residency in Season 101 before suiting up for Lyceum in 2026, where he has three full years of eligibility remaining.
Born on May 29, 2005, Miller is a 5-foot-10 point guard hailing from Las Vegas, Nevada, with Filipino heritage. Before moving to the Philippines, he played high school basketball for Liberty High School and Red Rock Academy in Las Vegas, earning praise for his court vision, scoring instincts, and leadership qualities. His performances in American youth tournaments like the LV Big Time Tournament and Section 7 made him a standout among Fil-Am prospects.
In his lone season with Letran, Miller showed flashes of high-level potential. He posted several notable performances, including a breakout game on September 13, 2024, against Jose Rizal University where he tallied 16 points, 5 assists, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals to lead the Knights to their first win of the season. He followed it up with another standout effort against Mapúa on October 18, scoring 14 points and hitting seven straight in the fourth quarter, including a buzzer-beating three that gave the Knights a temporary edge.
Miller became known for his poise under pressure and quick decision-making, highlighted by clutch moments such as a wild shot-clock-beating three-pointer that caught the eyes of NCAA fans. His mix of IQ, aggressiveness, and grit turned heads – even in a Letran squad navigating transition.
Now, with his transfer to Lyceum, Miller is taking the next step in his NCAA career. Lyceum, a consistent contender in the league over recent seasons, will gain a dynamic playmaker when he becomes eligible in Season 102 (2026). The Pirates are expected to benefit from his maturity and game experience, especially as they continue to push for a championship window.
The transfer marks a strategic move for both player and program. Miller gets a fresh environment with a system potentially better suited to his strengths, while Lyceum secures a young floor general with proven NCAA-level talent and three seasons to grow into a leader.
As Miller prepares for his residency year, anticipation is already building for what he’ll bring next.
