Kusey: We Should Come Together As a Team, Not Drift Apart

On October 5, RSG was eliminated in the regular season running for the playoffs. RSG has never been eliminated in the regular season, and many people are in shock. But why should a team with many seasons of spending time together, a team with a formidable coach respected by other teams, succumb to a regular season exit?

Kusey may just have given us an answer.

ALL-STAR asked the Gold Laner what his most valuable lesson in MPL Philippines Season 14 was. His answer was short but insightful.

Dapat, in the long run, magtatagpo kayo bilang one team, na magdidikit kayo sa isa’t isa, hindi yung palayo,” Kusey told ALL-STAR.

(I learned that each member of the team should strive to fit with each other, no matter how difficult, no matter how much out of sync we are. We should, in the long run, meet together as one team, one that is tightly knit together, not a team that’s drifting apart from each other.)

Silence filled the room after Kusey’s revelation.

The talented Gold Laner also admitted he feels regret.

Masakit.”

(It’s painful that we did not make it to the playoffs, I did not expect that we would be eliminated, knowing we almost made it to MSC in Season 13, and the team’s caliber is good. I want to make it to the worlds again, M-Series, with teammates I want to have. I never expected us to end up like this. It’s painful.)
