Fans love behind-the-scenes glimpses of their favorite teams, and UP Fighting Maroon Chicco Briones Jr. has taken that passion to heart by adding vlogging to his routine. Not only is it a gift to fans, but it’s also a personal outlet for him.

From university life and family moments to game days in the UAAP, Chicco has been documenting his journey through his YouTube channel, which he fondly calls “A Week in The Life.”

Chicco admits he’s not naturally outgoing, and vlogging became a way to push himself out of his comfort zone.

“I’m really an introverted guy, so [vlogging] is like me building my confidence to talk to people or in front of a lot of people,” he explained.

Beyond building confidence, Chicco envisions his channel as a digital memoir – a time capsule he can revisit in the future or share with his family someday.

“This is like a vlog diary for me to look back on. You know, when I get older, with my kids, I can say, ‘Oh, this is what I did with my team, this is my journey.’ That idea really inspired me,” he shared.

Before Chicco, the Fighting Maroons’ vlogging spotlight belonged to former teammate CJ Cansino, whose work inspired him to pick up the camera.

“It’s something I thought about a lot last year,” Chicco revealed. “This year, I wondered, ‘Who’s going to vlog the team now?’ And I thought, ‘Oh, maybe I should step in and do that,’ because CJ used to do it for the team.”

But Chicco’s creativity doesn’t stop with vlogging. He also has a deep love for fashion, drawing inspiration from athletes who blend style with substance.

One of his top fashion icons? None other than CJ Cansino.

“I’m glazing so much, but Kuya CJ… He has that simple fit, but it really stands out,” Chicco said with a smile.

Other names on his fashion inspiration list include NBA stars Jordan Poole of the Washington Wizards and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

As for his own style, Chicco describes it as a reflection of his personality.

“My style really defines who I am. Sometimes I keep it simple, but other times, I go for bold looks—colors and pieces that really turn heads,” he said confidently.

From documenting his life to expressing himself through fashion, Briones Jr. continues to inspire fans both on and off the court, proving there’s more to a Fighting Maroon than what happens during game time.
