Oheb Warns: That’s Just the Surface of What We’ve Been Keeping Secret

After making quick work of Ultra Legends (MENA), 2-0, on the first match of Team Liquid Philippines (TLPH) at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2025, Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno and Kiel “OHEB” Soriano were both confident that this time around, TLPH will take the title.

During their match against the MENA squad, KarlTzy and Oheb were the main threat in the opening match of the international tournament where they showed off incredible performances using Lancelot and Harith, respectively.

“Very confident kami ngayon [MSC] na kaya namin lahat talunin. Hindi naman sa pagmamayabang pero sobrang feel namin na ang gagaling namin,” said KarlTzy in an exclusive interview with ALL-STAR.

(“We’re very confident right now [at MSC] that we can beat everyone. Not to brag, but we really feel like we’re playing incredibly well.”)

With Oheb returning to the international stage once again after two years, this time with TLPH, he felt no pressure at all despite teams participating in the MSC looking at them as the main threat in the tournament.

With all of the main five of TLPH being veterans and former world champions, Oheb knew that the pressure of people expecting them to take the MSC or any title was not new to them..

He knew that despite all of the pressure, his team always got his back.

“Hindi naman ako napre-pressure kasi sobrang sanay naman na ako sa ganitong set up. Tsaka yung mga kakampi ko rin, lahat kami veterans, may experience. So tingin ko, kahit malaki yung expectations sa amin ng mga tao makuha yung title na ito (MSC) hindi kami napre-pressure kasi ilang beses na naming napagdaanan iyon,” Oheb said.

(“I don’t really feel pressured because I’m so used to this kind of setup. And my teammates too—we’re all veterans, we have experience. So I think even if people have big expectations for us to win this [MSC] title, we don’t feel pressured because we’ve been through this many times before.”)

For KarlTzy, Oheb showed no rust in his return to the international stage where he showed supremacy using Harith in Game 2 with a perfect record of 10 kills and 11 assists, also securing the first Maniac of the tournament seconds before the game ended.

“Parang wala naman siyang pinag-bago,” he said. (“It’s like nothing’s changed about him.”)

“Mas kailangan pa nila kaming paghandaan”

For Oheb, their dominating win that they showed against Ultra Legends was just the tip of the iceberg.

“Yung pinakita namin kanina [laban sa Ultra Legends] wala pa iyon. Surface pa lang iyon ng mga tinatago namin. So, hindi naman malaking bagay yung mga nakita nila kanina at mas kailangan pa nilang paghandaan yung mga bago naming ilalabas,” Oheb said confidently.

(“What we showed earlier [against Ultra Legends]—that was nothing yet. That was just the surface of what we’ve been keeping hidden. So whatever they saw earlier wasn’t a big deal, and they should prepare even more for what we’re about to bring out next.”)

If Oheb was confident, KarlTzy, on the other hand, remains focused. He even emphasized that their early game should improve.

“Siguro in terms of playstyle, kailangan naming baguhin yung early game namin kasi kanina medyo messy. So, yun lang yung need namin ma-improve pa,” he concluded.

(“Maybe in terms of playstyle, we need to change our early game because it was a bit messy earlier. So that’s the only thing we really need to improve on.”)
