Nico Mulingtapang Joins CSB Blazers in NCAA
Nico Mulingtapang has committed to the CSB Blazers, according to his agent Anthony Brodett of Phenom Sports Management, marking a new chapter in the young guard’s collegiate career.
Mulingtapang’s decision followed weeks of discussions and consideration, with the talented playmaker narrowing his choices to three NCAA programs: CSB, Letran Knights, and San Beda Red Lions. Each program presented a strong case, but in the end, the Blazers secured his commitment as they continue building toward sustained contention in the NCAA.
Under NCAA transfer rules, Mulingtapang will serve residency in 2026. After completing that requirement, he will have three years of NCAA eligibility remaining. That timeline gives the Blazers a chance to integrate him into their system while preparing for a multi-year window where he can make a meaningful impact on the court.
“We’re excited to be working with him, he’s a big guard and a pure point guard, something our team needs. Ian Torres will be gone after this year so It is nice to have another reliable guard,” Benilde head coach Charles Tiu said in a statement.
For CSB, landing Mulingtapang signals intent. The program has steadily positioned itself as a destination for skilled guards who can thrive in a structured yet dynamic system. His commitment strengthens the Blazers’ long-term plans and provides depth at a critical position.
For Mulingtapang, the move offers a fresh start and an opportunity to reset his collegiate path. With residency ahead and two playing years to follow, the focus now shifts to development, chemistry-building, and preparing for his NCAA debut in Blazers green.
