Sajonia validates San Beda’s trust
In the opening game of the San Beda Red Lions vs. Lyceum Pirates, Bryan Sajonia was named Player of The Game with 18 pts and 5 rebounds in his debut match.
Despite not being new to the collegiate scene, this marks Sajonia’s rookie year in the NCAA. After two years of playing for the FEU Tamaraws, he bid his farewell to the team. News came of his new journey with San Beda, but he had to sit out for a year before being eligible to play for Season 100.
In the first half of the game, Sajonia already had 12 points. This solid impact earned the former FEU Tamaraw more eyes that look out for him.
Sajonia also left the crowd roaring in excitement when he beat the shot clock to score a 3-pointer during the 3rd quarter of the game. The game concluded to 79-63, San Beda lead.
This debut match is proof of why San Beda signed Sajonia, and Coach Yuri Escueta confirmed, “Well, kaya naman namin siya kinuha dito dahil doon sa what he can do.” Sajonia would have to do it all again as they face College of St. Benilde on Tuesday.
