Team Liquid PH Named Bushes as Tributes to ‘Bok,’ ‘Tic,’ and ‘Baloy’

In Mobile Legends, a bush is often just a hiding place—until someone makes it mean something more.

For Team Liquid PH, some bushes on the map aren’t just hiding spots or gank zones. They’re small tributes, each one quietly named after the people who helped shape the team from the inside out: Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy, Michael Angelo “Arcadia” Bocado, and Archie “Tictac” Reyes.

If you listen closely during their scrims or games, you’ll hear it—coded calls that sound like an inside joke or a slice of family lore. “Bok bush,” someone shouts. “Tic bush,” another calls. “Baloy bush,” KarlTzy might murmur, almost like a ghost story told under breath.

The story starts in 2021, during their early days in ECHO, Coach Michael Angelo “Arcadia” Bocado and then Assistant Coach Archie “Tictac” Reyes huddled with their squad to talk strategy. But rather than diving into hero counters or lane control, they started with something oddly tender: naming every bush on the map.

“Wala kaming maisip na pangalan,” Archie recalls with a laugh. “So ginawa namin, pinangalan na lang sa amin.”

And just like that, what was once just grass became geography—Bok Bush for Coach Arcadia, Tic Bush for Coach TicTac.

But it didn’t stop there.

Former Aura PH roamer Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy is a legend who grew in the shadows, literally. Known for his terrifyingly surgical Natalia plays, Baloy had a particular area he favored. It was a place he turned into a personal graveyard for the enemy.

“That was Baloy’s killing zone,” KarlTzy shared in a casual conversation with ALL-STAR’s Mario Alvaro Limos.

So they named it too.

Baloy Bush became a landmark—not just of ambushes and mind games, but of Baloy himself. A living monument on the battlefield.

After a heartbreaking Season 9 run with ONIC Philippines, Baloy made waves in Indonesia, where he served as a guiding force for Geek Fam. Under his leadership as captain and roamer, the team pulled off historic upsets and reached their first-ever MPL ID playoff finals—an unprecedented feat that solidified Baloy’s reputation not just as a mechanical standout, but as a player with the vision and leadership to steer teams to new heights.

There’s something sacred about that. Something that feels like a hug from the past.

It’s like a band naming their favorite tour stops. Or like kids naming stars in the night sky after each other. There’s room for sentiment.

Not many people know, but Baloy is a close friend of the team, particularly its managers, whom he played with during their Aura PH days. To this day, he still affectionately calls Team Liquid’s Regional Manager for Esports Mitch Liwanag as “Coach Mitch” or “Ate Mitch.”

It may not seem much, but naming a bush after someone means something. It means you were here. You mattered. You changed the way we played. You left a mark.

For Bok. For Tic. For Baloy.
