Toritseju Adams Transfers to DLSU, Set to Strengthen Archers

Toritseju Adams, a towering Nigerian center who made headlines with the New Era University Hunters, has transferred to the De La Salle University Green Archers.

Adams confirmed that he will sit out one year of residency before becoming eligible to play in UAAP Season 89, giving La Salle a powerful inside presence for the years ahead.

Standing at 6-foot-11, Adams first gained notice for New Era University in the National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (NAASCU) and Pinoyliga tournaments. His size, timing, and defensive instincts made him one of the most promising young big men in the collegiate ranks.

He anchored NEU’s defense with standout performances that consistently featured double-digit rebounds and high block totals. In one NAASCU quarterfinal appearance, he tallied 16 points, 10 rebounds, and six blocks. Against De La Salle itself in a Pinoyliga Next Man Cup matchup, he finished with 22 points, 13 rebounds, and seven blocks, showcasing the kind of rim protection and interior dominance that drew the attention of a major UAAP program.

His move to De La Salle marks a significant development both for the player and for the Green Archers’ long-term roster construction. After a year of residency, Adams will have four years of eligibility under UAAP rules, setting him up as a cornerstone of La Salle’s future frontcourt.

The program has recently emphasized size and interior depth, and Adams fits neatly into that vision, especially with Michael Phillips in his final playing season.

Toritseju will compete with Moses Mandiria and Henry Agunanne for La Salle’s foreign student-athlete spot in Season 89. Each UAAP team can have two per roster, but only one playing per game.

Having already proven himself against top collegiate programs while with New Era University, he arrives in Taft with a foundation of competitive experience and a hunger to develop further.
