The 59-Year-Old Fan Cheering for Aurora at the Airport
At the bustling sendoff event for Aurora at NAIA Terminal 1, a figure stood out among the crowd of energetic fans: 59-year-old Lolit, a devoted supporter of the team.
We caught her dancing in one corner as the fans, who were waiting at the airport for hours, welcomed Aurora as they stepped out of their van. She was holding a cardboard cutout of Domeng’s head.
We approached her and she gamely entertained us.
Lolit warmly introduced herself, “Ako nga pala si Lolit, fan ng Aurora!”
Her smile was brighter than the sky.
She started her esports fangirling with a deep admiration for VeeWise, the iconic duo formerly from Blacklist International, and who are now talents and creative directors at Aurora.
“Na-inspire ako sa story ng buhay nila kaya naging fan ako,” she shared, emphasizing how their resilience and dedication drew her into the esports world.

Although Lolit plays Mobile Legends occasionally, she admits her love for the game stems more from her admiration of the players.
Her favorite heroes? “Syempre, heroes ni OhMyV33nus!” she exclaimed, showcasing her loyalty to one of the most celebrated players in the scene. OhMyV33nus is best known for her mastery of Estes, the most powerful healer in the game.
We noticed she was the only one holding a cardboard cutout of Domeng.
“Alam mo, kahit bago pa lang siya sa Aurora, magaling na rin talaga siya,” she said. “Nakikita ko rin na nagsisikap talaga siya para maging magaling talaga mag-perform.”
Her words reflect the genuine pride she feels for the players, new and seasoned alike.
Just like many supporters of Aurora, Lolit always scrambles to secure tickets so she can watch Aurora’s matches at the venue. Despite the challenges of securing tickets, she always finds her way to live events.
“Palagi naman akong nasa venue, naghahanap talaga ako ng ticket kahit wala akong ticket!” she revealed. The esports community has embraced her, often helping her secure access to matches.
Unfazed by the heat outside the airport, Lolit just wants to express her support for Aurora.
“We are here just to support and pray for them so they can get the championship in M6,” she said. “I know they can make it.”
As the afternoon sun traced the sky, sweat trickled down our faces. But Lolit made a shade of Domeng’s cutout face. She smiles at every passing van, hoping it would be Aurora. And when they finally came out, her cheer was one of the loudest. It was the most heartwarming moments we’ve ever seen.
Lolit proves that true fans don’t mind the heat—they bring the fire.
