Anta Celebrates the Ateneo Blue Eagles Through the Anta Kai 1 ‘Blue Dynasty’
Anta continues carving a lasting mark on the local hooping scene, collaborating with the Ateneo Blue Eagles in anticipation of Kyrie Irving’s Kai 1 in the “Blue Dynasty” colorway. Arguably fitting, noting the university’s success in preparing its players at the collegiate and professional levels, the brand’s Chief Creative Officer’s newest release comes in a blue-and-black color blocking, reminiscent of Irving’s alma mater and the Katipunan squad’s threads.

The local arm of the Chinese multinational corporation invited past and present Blue Eagles to the Common Folk Coffee Bar last Thursday, December 5, 2024, to celebrate a legacy that has achieved UAAP glory in these past two decades. From 2002’s Enrico Villanueva-led roster to the present Ian Espinosa underdogs, Ateneo continuously places itself as a promising squad that is almost always gunning for championship contention.
Despite the age disparity, the program’s #BEBOB (Blue Eagles, Band of Brothers) mantra embodies its generations of cagers, proudly donning the blue-and-white. Throughout the evening, they spoke about their fondest memories in Katipunan, recalling reaching the “top of the hill” and the importance of their Ateneo heritage.
“My best memory was winning our first championship against La Salle, especially after the five-peat,” Rain or Shine Elasto Painters’ Anton Asistio tells Anta Philippines.
“It took five years for us to win another championship, so for me, that was really special,” he continued.
The Anta Kai 1 “Blue Dynasty” retails for ₱7,995.00 and is now available at select Anta locations nationwide.
