Jalen Brunson: Off-balance is Sometimes Good

Brunson’s off-balance style of play is unstoppable, and it certainly throws off a lot of defenses. Yes, off-balance according to him, yet he’s a darn pretty effective offense facilitator. He is the Knicks’ best player.

He can shoot threes, he has that midrange (and he’s licensed to shoot from midrange), and he can post up despite his relatively short stature. He has also been a great playmaker 8 games into the season. It also helps that he has very good scorers in his squad: Karl Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, and even the new guy, Jordan Clarkson. There is no shortage of people he can pass the ball to in case of traps and double teams.

Even if he is known as an offensive guy, he also contributes defensively–he has averaged  a steal and 4 rebounds in the first 8 games.

For Daily Fantasy Players: HOT! This guy is captain material, unless the Knicks are playing a team with a scoring big like Jokic or Giannis, in which case he’s perfect as vice-captain. It also helps that the team’s offensive sets favor him a lot. In addition to that, he could have a bit of a challenge when playing against teams with bigger, taller, and younger guards and wings (for switches).

For Traditional Fantasy Players: HOT! Jalen Brunson constantly produces 30 points and close to 10 assists per game. He plays a lot of games in the season and rarely finds himself in the inactive or injured list. He is one of the more reliable guards—perhaps only behind Luka Dončić or Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Perhaps, his off-balance style is his main asset, as it helped him stay healthy for long stretches in the past seasons. He has always played more than 60 games in the recent seasons. This guy is a first pick!
