Daily Fantasy Week 7: The Strange Case of the Lakers

How are the Lakers this good? The Lakers have no business being this great given their team stats, but they are currently #2 in the Western Conference.

Match 1: The Los Angeles Lakers at the Boston Celtics

The Los Angeles Lakers had a 6-game win streak until they ran into a kinda mid Phoenix Suns team that got hot for some reason. Luka Doncic scored 38 and grabbed 11 boards, and Austin Reaves had 16 points, to no avail. Devin Booker had a bad night, but it was one of those crazy, unexpected events when a player like Dillon Brooks would score 33 points. The Lakers should have no problems taking care of a Jayson Tatum-less Boston Celtics. They just have to focus on their defense, specifically locking down Jaylen Brown who is the Celtics’ best player.

Suggested Daily Fantasy lineup:

Captain: Luka Doncic

Vice Captain: Austin Reaves

Key picks: LeBron James, Deandre Ayton, Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, Payton Pritchard

Match 2: The Charlotte Hornets at the New York Knicks

The Knicks are gaining momentum as they look to extend their 4-game winning streak this week. They should not have any difficulties against the dismal Charlotte Hornets.

Suggested Daily Fantasy lineup:

Captain: Jalen Brunson

Vice Captain: Karl Anthony-Towns

Key picks: Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, Miles Bridges, Lamelo Ball

Match 3: The Miami Heat at the Orlando Magic

The Miami Heat are third in the Eastern Conference standings, and they will face a Magic team that may have no Paolo Banchero. The Magic may have a chance if their young, lengthy guards play well.

Suggested Daily Fantasy lineup:

Captain: Bam Adebayo

Vice Captain: Norman Powell

Key picks: Franz Wagner, Desmond Bane, Tyler Herro, Wendell Carter Jr.

FEATURED MATCH-UP: The Oklahoma City Thunder at the Golden State Warriors

This game would have been a great contest with a lot of themes, but unfortunately, the injury bug has bitten the Golden State Warriors. No Steph Curry, no Draymond, and possibly no Jimmy Butler against the mighty, rampaging Oklahoma City Thunder? Shai is going to have a field day running around Kuminga or whoever it is they are putting in front of him. However, no Luguentz Dort and no Alex Caruso means that the Thunder’s defense took a hit, but they have young guns like Isaiah Joe and Cason Wallace who could pick up the slack. Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren are problems for the Warriors as well. This match-up is going to be an execution.

Suggested Daily Fantasy lineup:

Captain: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

Vice Captain: Chet Holmgren

Key picks: Ajay Mitchell, Jalen Williams, Jonathan Kuminga
